That was a goodbye if ever I’ve seen one. It’s safe to say Kristen Wiig is moving on from SNL.
As for Samberg and Sudeikis, things are a little less clear. ‘Lazy Sunday 2’ seemed like a proper goodbye for Andy Samberg, but it will be hard to know until there’s official word. (Questlove’s tweet not included.)
Anyway … that was emotional.
Heartwarming Tearjerker of the Day: Meet Ramen Noodle, a teacup poodle puppy who’s managed to thrive despite losing his front legs, and who is the subject of a new photo series by famed animal photographer Carli Davidson, known for past series Shake, Fetch, and Pets With Disabilities.
He was probably a mill puppy, inbred to achieve his tiny size. When he was 8 months old, his first owner brought him to the vet, with a broken arm. Unfortunately, the owner did not properly care for his injury, she didn’t come back to get the cast checked until nine weeks later. At that point, to no one’s surprise, the arm was nearly eaten away by gangrene. By then, Ramen Noodle was listless and refused food. It was a wonder he survived.
Jaime Salata Van Tassel, his clinic caretaker, ended up adopting him. But Ramen Noodle’s struggles weren’t over.
A second injury cost Ramen his other front leg; this time he jumped of a chair and broke the bone. Again, one of the effects of interbreeding dogs for small size is week bone, so his single teacup poodle arm broke so badly it could not be mended. While Jaime was devastated, Ramen surprised everyone and bounced back.
“Ramen gets around the house on his hind legs,” Jaime says. “I’ve watched him run at full-speed for toys, and to play with other dogs, he is essentially unrestricted despite his lack of front arms. … it’s like it never happened.”

Marketing Campaign of the Day: A fully funded $14,800 Kickstarter has resulted in an extensive D.C. ad campaign defending Pfc. Bradley Manning, who is charged with “aiding the enemy” for leaking the largest dump of classified information in U.S. history to WikiLeaks. If convicted, Manning faces life in prison, an outcome the series of subway ads — which hail him as a whistleblower — seeks to avoid.
The ads, by nonprofit ad firm EpicStep and the Bradley Manning Support Network, are directed at government workers in the capital:
The military has done its best to limit public exposure to Bradley Manning’s case by holding the trial at Ft. Meade, a relatively difficult location for the public to attend, and they have not released transcripts of the pretrial hearing, thereby limiting media exposure and making it difficult for laymen to follow the proceedings. Let’s bring the case back to Washington! … These ads will force government workers to remember WikiLeaks and Bradley Manning, remind them that the public is behind Bradley, and explain that what Bradley is accused of doing is a public good.
Bradley’s next hearing is June 6.

Dan Harmon Is No Longer Showrunner on 'Community' | Vulture -
Dan Harmon will not be returning as showrunner of NBC’s Community, and whether he’ll remain involved at all with the series he created at remains very much in doubt. Sony Pictures Television, which produces the series with Universal Television, has closed a deal with Happy Endings writers David Guarascio and Moses Port to join Community as showrunners and exec producers.
This is very disheartening news. Vulture also explains that Sony hired new showrunners without discussing with Harmon, which leads to the notion that he won’t be in a minor consulting role either.
Vulture hears that now that Sony made its deal with Guarascio and Port, it plans to ask Harmon to remain involved as a writer and consultant — but not as the person in charge of the show. (He’s expected to remain a “consulting producer” no matter what). Given Sony’s decision to make a deal for Harmon’s replacement without telling Harmon directly, it seems a longshot that Harmon will agree to a diminished role.

From Mindy Kaling’s hilarious Upfronts diary for Vulture. This is the part where she found out her Fox show was good to go. Couple more:
-she makes the definitive observation on Brian Grazer’s Saiyanlike hair
-the Kill Bill soundtrack, one of my “getting shit done” go-tos, is one of her “jogging in Central Park” go-tos [NOW THIS IS ABOUT ME!!]
